FLIGHTS TO TACOMA
Flights are arranged by individual families. We recommend flying out of Sacramento to Seattle/Tacoma. It seems to be the fastest and most economical way to fly. Southwest usually has a variety of flights at good prices. The cost is usually around $200, and if purchased early, you can get good deals for at least the leg from Sacramento to Seattle/Tacoma. Due to the busy Presidents' Day weekend, flights on Saturday or Sunday usually do not go down. We would recommend flying late afternoon or evening on Wednesday, February 14, and return late on Saturday, February 17 or early on Sunday, February 18. Most events start in the morning on Thursday, February 16, and the Closing Ceremony is mid afternoon on Saturday, February 17.
It is a good idea to rent a car in Tacoma for traveling to the various events. Car Rentals in Tacoma are usually fairly reasonable at this time of year. Car rental rates tend to go down after New Years, which is a good time to make a reservation. There are a number of options, but if you want the convenience of renting and picking up a car at the airport (as opposed to shuttling offsite), the following rental agencies have desks and pickup in the Seattle/Tacoma Airport Terminal.
